Northwest Coast Indians



The Northwest Coast Indians are well known for their
use of Totem Poles and wooden carvings.   A ladle of goat horn inlaid with abalone is one of many of the decorative items treasured by the Indians.  



 




Feast dishes carved of wood and decorated with ivory are on display. 

This is a wooden frog effigy grease bowl that is inlaid with ivory.

 

 

 

 

 

 

This feast bowl is a double bear effigy.  The eyes are made of carved ivory.

The totem pole was s symbol of the different tribes.
