Trilobites were the most distinctive animals of the Paleozoic seas.  Appearing in great diversity in the Cambrian, they declined to extinction in the Permian.

Part of the specimens in our museum were collected by "The Stone Company", a fossil collector's dream come true, in Boulder, Colorado.

Orthoceras and Ammonites are a few of the animals that inhabited the seas during the Devonian  Period.

Mesasaurus, a marine reptile, swam
the ancient seas.  They are found only
in Brazil and South Africa.

The African lungfish is a rare and unusual find.

Fern imprints, collected during a polar
bear hunt in Spitzbergen in 1963,
are part of the Carboniferous Exhibit.

preserved in a matrix that measures 14" across.

Our giant Crocodile skull is an impressive
part of our inventory.  It lived during the
Cretaceous Period.
